I’ve really enjoyed teaching bankruptcy at LMU Duncan Law School as it allows me to give back to the community in a different way. It is very gratifying to be able to provide mentorship for young students and help grow the next generations of lawyers.
E. Michael Brezina
I really enjoy serving as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law. This past fall marks my second year of teaching the course “Pre-trial Litigation” to soon-to-be lawyers. It has been a time-consuming, rewarding and uplifting experience.
I have really enjoyed teaching. It is a way I feel I can give back to students and help to provide them with some of the unparalleled training I received from my mentors (and now partners) at Hodges, Doughty & Carson. It is really exciting to see young and eager minds as passionate about the law as we are at HDC!
I also really appreciated the effort put forth by my students throughout the semester. Their assignments included completing numerous and difficult writing assignments, taking a deposition and presenting an oral argument in support of a dispositive Motion for Summary Judgment (in other words, a final dismissal) of a hypothetical lawsuit. And they also had to sit through my lectures! But in all seriousness, I appreciated the focus, desire to improve and attentiveness my students exhibited throughout my time with them last year!! On to Fall, 2017!
