About

Lindsey Lovingood Hobbs is a Special Counsel, practicing in the areas of commercial transactions, real estate acquisitions and development, real estate litigation, estate planning, and probate litigation.  Lindsey has represented clients in business acquisitions and sales, specifically in real estate transactions with multifamily and recreational properties and participated in successful transactions totaling $250 million in assets in more than a dozen states.  Lindsey’s experience includes transactions with both owner financing and agency debt, as well as the transfer of assets subject to USDA Rural Development loans.

Licensed in Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina, Lindsey represents both businesses and individuals in litigation related to contract and real property disputes in both state and federal courts.  Lindsey advises clients in estate planning and strategic business succession planning and has participated in numerous probate litigation matters relating to elder financial exploitation and breach of fiduciary duty.

Lindsey received her B.A. from the University of Tennessee in 2006, and her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2009.  Prior to returning to Knoxville, Lindsey practiced in a boutique creditors’ rights firm in Savannah, Georgia, focusing on commercial litigation on behalf of financial and healthcare institutions, and matters associated with post-foreclosure commercial property transactions.  Lindsey also served as counsel for creditors, including the Chapter 7 Trustee, on litigation matters in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Lindsey resides in her hometown of Maryville, Tennessee with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs.  She is a member of Junior League of Knoxville, serves as an advisor for Sigma Kappa Sorority at the University of Tennessee, and volunteers with various philanthropic organizations in the area, including serving as a foster home.
